1. Receiving Assignment
When a task is assigned to you from MSX, you will receive an email notification. The task will be accessible directly on iDub without having to check it on MSX.

2. Using iDub
2.1 Sign in
Open iDub app on your device and sign in.
💡 | To sign in to an employee account, type in your iyuno-sdi.com email and password. |
2.2 Security reminder
Read and give your consent for the security agreement by clicking Continue.
2.3 Project search
You can use the search bar to search for a project using it’s ID or Title.
2.4 Opening a project
Tap on the assigned project to open it.
💡 | Projects with the Job Type field selected as ‘iDub Lite’’ in MSX will be displayed in ‘My Projects’ page. |
2.5 Access denied
If you try to access a project that is missing a rate card or the due date on MSX, an error message will be displayed. If you see this message, you will need to contact the user who assigned the project to you so that they can set the rate card and the due date.
2.6 Unsupported frame rate
If the video selected for the project uses a frame rate that is not supported by the application, the project will be inaccessible.
2.7 Watermarking
When a project is accessed for the first time, iDub will start generating a watermark for the video. You will be able to open the project, once the watermark has been created.
💡 | If you leave the watermarking prompt on, you will join the session automatically once the watermark has been generated. |
Watermarked videos are retained in the system for 6 weeks. After the retention period, watermarked videos are deleted and will need to be generated again.
2.8 Initializing
Before you can join a session, iDub will need to initialize.
💡 | If the initialization progress is too slow or gets stuck, check to make sure that the network connection is stable. |
An engineer needs to be accessing the project in order to access the project.
2.9 Network stability
You can check the status bar located above the video display to check the quality of your current network connection.
2.10 Talkback
You can communicate with other users using the voice chat feature. The push-to-talk button needs to be pressed and held down in order to speak.
To speak to everyone, use the chat button on the right.
To speak to everyone but the voice talent, use the chat button on the left.
2.11 Mixer
Every project has a ‘Video’ track. The ‘EQ’ button can be tapped on to open the mixer used to adjust audio levels.
- Volume: Adjusts audio level of the video.
- Panning: Adjusts audio distribution of the video.

- Panning: Adjusts audio distribution of the recorded clips.
2.12 Pre-roll
When recording is initiated, preroll will be added and recording will start 5 seconds before the selected position. During the preroll, recording controls will be disabled.
💡 | When recording starts from 00:00:00:00 preroll will not be added. |
💡 | During pre-roll audio from the voice actor’s microphone will not be audible but it will be recorded. |
2.13 Track control
Playback can only be controlled by the engineer. Only volume for the tracks can be adjusted.
💡 | When engineer plays, records, uses solo, uses mute, changes track color, or edits the clip, changes will be applied to guest user’s view. |
2.14 Full screen
To view the video in full screen, turn on ‘Use Full Screen’ from settings.
2.15 Marker
You can tap on the marker icon during playback to mark the playback position for review after the recording.
To see all the existing markers and add memos, click on the marker icon found on the toolbar at the right to open the ‘Markers’ panel.
2.16 Clips
Recorded clips can be found in the ‘Clips’ list. To open the list, tap on the folder icon.
💡 | Newly created clips will have a red dot to indicate that it has not been checked. Once it is tapped, the indicator will disappear. |
Recorded clips are stored on each of the voice talent’s devices and low resolution audios are shared with engineers and guests.
You can play the recorded clips by using the playback controls that appear when the clips are tapped.
2.17 Export
When the engineer leaves the project, all users will automatically leave the room.
2.18 Left the project
When the engineer leaves the project, all users will automatically leave the room.
2.19 Deleting project data
You can permanently delete project data including the downloaded video data and recorded audio by tapping on the more icon and tapping on delete.
💡 | Be sure to free up enough storage space on your iPad before recording by deleting the project data. |
2.20 Project expiration
A project will expire 30 days after it is created. After expiry, the project will become inaccessible and all files associated with the project, such as video and its recordings, will be deleted automatically.
💡 | Expiration date will be highlighted in red 5 days before the expiry. |
For projects that have less than 5 days before expiry, a reminder will be displayed indicating the number of days before expiry whenever the project is opened.
2.21 Sign out
To sign out, tap on the Sign Out button in Settings.
